R&D Core Developer

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance TransGaming's Win32/DirectX porting technology
  • Architect, design and implement new features
  • Factor and maintain existing technology
  • Profile and debug applications running on various platforms
  • Provide assistance and support to other engineering and support teams
  • Work with a variety of leading game studios and publishers to port bleeding-edge top-tier games

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • At least 2 years experience in software development
  • Extensive C and C++ experience
  • Experience working with POSIX and BSD APIs, including those for filesystem, network and threads
  • Solid understanding of group-based software development processes
  • Proven ability to work on tasks independently and to meet time lines and quality objectives
  • Strong debugging and problem solving skills

Desired Skills

  • 4 years or more experience in software development
  • x86 assembly language experience
  • Windows programming experience
  • Mac OS X or Linux programming experience
  • Experience with Cocoa and Objective-C
  • Compiler design experience (either front or back end)
  • Experience with kernel and/or driver development
  • Familiarity with game engine design and implementation
  • Familiarity with emulation and translation techniques

This is for a full time permanent position in either Toronto or Ottawa. Salary will be commensurate with experience. We also have a comprehensive benefits package.
